Have you ever frozen entirely when looking into a 3 point slinger for camera as your image is being taken? Your legs won’t move, your hands are stiff, and you feel incredibly awkward.
I’ve already done that. Over the past few years, there have been a lot of Instagram photoshoots featuring me. And let me tell you, I had NO IDEA how to pose at first. However, I’ve picked up a number of techniques along the way to vary my positions for photos.
I want to give you some simple and adorable photo poses that will help you stand out from the crowd, boost your self-esteem, and give you fresh ideas for your upcoming photo shoot with friends. Let’s begin the list now.
1. PUSH UP TO THE CAMERA
Before we start, I must warn you that some stances may feel strange but trust me, you will look fantastic. My go-to position of choice is to approach the camera. In fact, because it appears so natural, many professional models will do this during photo shoots.
This stance is simple to remember, and if I run out of poses, generally going in the direction of the camera always works!
Why I adore this pose: Moving in front of the 3 point slinger for camera adds motion to your picture. Additionally, your body forms a lovely angle as a result. Your leg will cross over the other leg, which will slim you down.
Advice: You can still walk in place to create the illusion of spontaneous movement even in small spaces.
2. THE ARMS-CROSSED POSE
It’s simple to cross your arms, especially if you don’t have any props on hand. I prefer to either close my body and place my feet close together or I prefer to create a more comfortable atmosphere by taking a broader posture.
Why this position appeals to me: It’s possible to seem edgy in this position. Crossing your arms can typically make you appear closed off, but a smile and a slight slant to your face will make you appear more lively.
Tips:
Keep your arms loosely at your sides. In order to make it appear more open, lightly touch your arms.
To provide more of an angle, I prefer to elevate one shoulder while lightly crossing my arms.
Additionally, I’ll raise an arm and tilt my head if I’m feeling playful.
3. HANDPOSE WITH HIP
Placing your hand on your hip is another simple go-to position. The fact that there are so many variants on this position makes it ideal if you don’t have any props or objects to work with.
Why I cherish it: The angles your body makes in this hand-on-hip position add interest.
Guidelines For This Pose:
When placing your hand on your hip, use less force. You should always move lightly.
Lift your shoulder and lean forward with your upper body. This will give your picture an even more interesting angle.
4. TWIRL POSE
Who doesn’t enjoy a good spin? First off, twirling in pictures is a lot of fun, but it also gives your picture a special kind of movement.
As you whirl, remember to relax your face. Since I was grinning and laughing so loudly, I took a lot of terrible pictures while doing this.
My advice: If you’re wearing a flowy dress or skirt, this position will only look good on you. Wearing a flowy skirt will have a greater impact than twirling while wearing pants.
5. ADD A PROP
My preferred method for livening up any photo shoot is by using props. I like to consider my location and the time of year before adding props. The addition of ice cream is ideal throughout the summer. Add a classic NYC pretzel, for example, if I’m in New York City.
Consider your area and think of any problems that could complement your photo shoot.
Why I adore it: With the use of a prop, you can add interest and narrative to a photograph.
Favorite photographic props:
- Coffee Cup, Ice Cream Cone, Pretzel, Flower Bouquet, Book, or Newspaper
- Hat and bag as clothing accessories
- Use the pockets on your skirt and blazer!
- Items of the Season: Umbrella, Seashells, Coconut, Fall Leaves, and Snow
- Make sure your prop complements your photo well. Would you really be holding a coffee cup at night, for instance? As long as your prop makes sense, that is.
6. RETURN TO THE CAMERA
Consider it again, consider it again. Looking back at the 3 point slinger for camera provides a playful attitude and a distinct angle (I hope you got the reference).
Tip: I like to smile in this kind of photo as if I am shocked that someone is behind me since gazing back creates a humorous position.
Another piece of advice is to turn your body to the side and gaze back. Your neck will have to turn a lot if your body is not angled to the side, which will make the picture appear weird.See more articles frenchwives
